After yesterday's repairs, I got to wash two loads of laundry this morning. I kind of overloaded the first batch, which was not smart of me, but things came out okay. I'll try to be more responsible in how I prepare the successive loads this weekend as I work through my backlog while I was in Singapore.
We made a grocery run today, our first one since we purchased a new refrigerator, and I made a serious effort to stock more protein of the frozen variety. Dietary concerns mean I only picked up lean ground pork and dory fillets, but that makes for a solid base for a variety of dishes. The goal is to only go regular grocery shopping like once every 1-3 weeks and rely on the Kadiwa market for most of our veggie needs. The only caveat for the near future is that there's no Kadiwa market this Sunday - it's just the somewhat fancier village market instead. So it's not the best time to start this process. But I couldn't bring myself to even buy cabbages given supermarket prices and just how tiny they are. I'll need to figure out an alternate supplier for the coming week so we can hold on until the next Kadiwa market cycle.
But this is the main reason we opted to upgrade to a bigger fridge - so we could store more fresh produce and such and minimize our need for delivery and eating out in general. The actual process just got delayed a bit by me being in Singapore for a while, but now we're going to get this show on the road.
We have returned to the world of The Penthouse this week as our active K-Drama. Then for lunchtime viewing, we're going through the first season of Solitary Gourmet, as an English-dubbed version has been officially uploaded to YouTube. We're also finally going through Wonder Man before we swing around to Lanterns as supplementary viewing as we're already done with the latest season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
