03069: Fridge Day

Sunday - New Fridge, Old Magnets

After our busy ATC Saturday, we didn't expect much for the rest of the night. We finished two stupid movies - Hot Pursuit and Sugar Vice while we got through our respective tasks, and then settled down to learn how to play Robo Rescue. We were waiting for a nearby friend to finally wake up for gaming, which only happened around midnight. He got to the Sietch in time to catch the tail end of our learning game; then we immediately taught him how to play it and went for another go. We couldn't stay up too late since the Abenson delivery for the new fridge didn't come with an exact delivery time, but we still managed a first playthrough of Peanuts Talent Show, which is a rather compact yet compelling game that combines trick-taking with a degree of deck-building.

True enough, the delivery came first thing in the morning, so we were up and about again after only a few hours of sleep. It was a good thing that the existing fridge didn't have much in it, so we got to move the more temperature-sensitive stuff to the fridge in the main house while we waited for the new one to be ready for use. The store had provided detailed instructions on how long to wait before plugging it in, then turning it on without items in it, and finally putting it into active use. The Sietch has been a bit of a mess all day with the limited upheaval of things,

But all of our repeated measuring has paid off, as the new fridge fits perfectly in the limited space that we have. We were worried that the front door would hit it, but thankfully that's not the case. We have a lot more space now, and we hope this will encourage us to cook more meals and cut down on food delivery orders. This should save us some money, but also help us better control what we eat.

I just need to prepare my bag for the trip tonight, then things will be quite frenetic in the morning.
