Today's my mom's birthday. Happy Birthday, Mommy!
So yesterday's minor panic over my original Christmas gift idea for one of my nephews being out of stock online was for naught because I saw the toy in question at the SM Department store today. We were at the mall for our weekly grocery run, and I decided to take a peek since SM BF does not have a full Toy Kingdom branch. I wasn't expecting to find it...but it was right there on a high shelf. And there was only one left. I felt like a sign, so I bought it because I'm that kind of uncle. And since that means giving two gifts to one nephew, I picked up an additional gift for the older one to try to balance things out a little.
My main toy for that older little boy arrived today, and it's quite cute. It's also smaller than I hoped, given how much I paid for shipping for this item. I somewhat regret not adding another item to my cart just to make the expense a bit more worthwhile. At least it's here, so that's one more item off my list. Now I have the new toys to add to the pile while I wait for my Super Wings order via Lazada (as it's too late to cancel).
Just a few more items on our Christmas shopping list. I remain stressed, but not as stressed as yesterday.
In other news, we've gotten started on an EXIT: The Game Advent Calendar, this being The Hunt for the Golden Book. This is our third EXIT advent calendar, and it has become a fun little tradition as part of the lead-up to Christmas. We have two more editions in our collection, which means we have a buffer in case they stop making these or there are years where we get to celebrate our birth months or something with escape room puzzle boxes.
And yet we just saw on TikTok that there's an official Taskmaster Advent Calendar, but we have no idea how to get one for ourselves. Grr.
