After last night's massage, I squeezed in some time to open up my Transformers x Sonic the Hedgehog Collaborative set, consisting of Blue Booster (Sonic) and Hightail (Tails). It has been far too long since I last sat down to "work" on my Transformers, apart from some recent (non-Transforming) Blokees figures. These were quaint, but not the greatest toys ever. But compromises are always made with these collaborative figures, and the overall result is still pretty cool. But I definitely prefer them in vehicle mode versus their robot forms.
This reminded me that I had yet to finalize my Christmas gift for my younger nephew, as I was undecided which Transformers figure to get him. This had me checking out Lazada in case I could order it online, and...it's out of stock. I know it had been out for some months, but I wasn't expecting it to be out of stock already. And a quick scan of other local retailers and even Amazon confirms that this particular figure has become oddly sought-after. I should have looked into this sooner, as my alternate Transformer is...a lot bigger.
I still hope to find the original toy, but I've settled for risking an order for a transforming Super Wings toy instead, but it was with a non-Laz Mall vendor. I don't like purchasing items from non-Laz Mall vendors since they feel less reliable or at least not necessarily vetted. Plus, the shop doesn't even have a significant number of reviews or confirmed orders, so I may have wasted money just now. Wish me luck.
Most of my Christmas gifts for the family have already arrived, so it's down to the special gifts for the boys. Beyond the one I just ordered, the other one has been in transit for a while, but I'm expecting it to arrive this week. Fingers and toes crossed for now.
Speaking of gifts, most of our O Bar-related gifts have also arrived, but I had a weird order snafu with one set of items. I had ordered a dozen initially, then realized I needed to add a few more and did so a few days later. The add-on order arrived, but the original order got cancelled because...reasons? So I had to find another merchant that carries the same item and had to place a new (non-11.11) order. I hope this order goes through okay - we're running out of time to distribute these gifts before I fly off for Singapore for Christmas.
