Today ended on a better note - I had managed to clear most of the lingering tasks that had been bothering me yesterday. It was a lot of reporting work and some meeting preparation work for tomorrow. I still have more more shift to deal with this week and that includes a longer internal management meeting and a client meeting. Tomorrow is going to be a good day.
For dinner, I once again cooked a cabbage-enriched leftovers dish - this being takeout chicken poppers from O Bar with cabbage and mushrooms. I guess it could be compared to something like KFC's famous bowls, but with cabbage instead of rice. I also got to mix in some Mentsuyu that Tobie's relative had given us. We had assumed it was tonkatsu sauce, but Gemini helped me determine what it actually was and provided some tips on its use. The actual meal turned out better than my last attempt, so yay for that.
Sinigang tomorrow. I gotta prepare it before our kangkong fully wilts in the fridge. Huzzah.
On the book front, my exploration of the MechWarrior: Dark Age books continues slowly. The relatively low-tech setting is proving to be less than satisfying as entire plants are being defended by like a handful of actual BattleMechs and a ridiculous number of jury-rigged industrial mechs and support vehicles. But it's still comforting to be back in the BattleTech universe.
Our family book club book is a lot more fulfilling as we're reading Careless People, that Meta tell-all book that has becomme the subject of US Congressional hearings. I'm still struggling through Antifragile, but I need to get past it so I can move on to better business-related books. I'm more likely to finish the Meta book than that book by the end of the month.
