02E53: Literally Cooking Now

Friday - Squid and Sayote

After yesterday's induction cookware purchases, I've already managed to use both the pot and the pan as part of meal preparations for the day. We still had lunch from the household, but I got to use the pan to heat up some leftovers to round out the meal. Then for dinner, I once again prepared my usual squid and sayote dish, and it all came together pretty well.

The cooking presets don't appear to be as useful as I'd like as the default frying setting goes pretty high, so I end up manually adjusting the temperature instead. The new cookware also seems to handle the heat pretty well, and I had no flare-ups this time, unlike what happened with the stainless steel pot. Both come with some honeycomb pattern for the base that's supposed to help capture oil and keep it away from the food or something. I'm just glad nothing burned and I didn't end up with any food residue stuck in the little hexagonal cells.

Tobie and I have a pretty busy weekend ahead with an O Bar event tonight, Tobie and Komiet all weekend, and me trying to support him while also juggling other obligations like a children's birthday party on Saturday and consulting with a contractor on Sunday.

Wish us luck!
