I've been looking forward to the weekend mainly because it means more time with the nephews, more than anything else. Between full workdays and their school stuff, we actually don't get to spend a lot of time with them during the week. We had mapped out a night in Johor for a change of pace, but we had no major activities planned. The boys still had their swimming classes to get through, and then it was across the border after lunchtime.
It's a relatively long car ride to get to Malaysia, but not too different from us traveling to the likes of Quezon City, given Metro Manila traffic. No major incidents in the car beyond the younger one eventually falling asleep and the older one getting increasingly restless the longer we remained in the vehicle. So it's just as well we went for a late yet hearty Japanese lunch once in Malaysia. I ordered a suitably daunting "hungry bento" that was a nice sampling of the different things the restaurant could offer. But the real treat was watching the boys eat. The old one loves sashimi, and he can really put it away once he gets going.
We haven't done all that much since, beyond a few errands and keeping the boys occupied. I gave up my laptop so my older nephew could play more Spore (even if it means starting a brand new game). The younger one was mostly preoccupied with drawing, although I've yet to do proper research into who the heck Titan Camera Man is suppose to be.
It has just been a nice day.
