I ended up working from home today (while in Singapore) since my older nephew is under the weather, which disrupted plans for today. As this is my default, it wasn't an issue at all, and I think we got a good amount of work done. Huzzah for home productivity.
I do hope he feels better by tomorrow. We have a whole weekend planned since it's his birthday next week, and we wanted to do stuff. He's certainly well enough to play Spore. And when he's not playing Spore, he's asking us if he can play Spore while he watches YouTube videos of different Spore creations. It's a thing that my nephew is into: a game that is older than him. He's adorable that way.
I'm pretty sure that I've been eating too much over the last few days, and we haven't gotten to proper birthday-related eating. I know I need to rein it in, but I'm also just happy to be here because I really do enjoy Singaporean food options, even when they're carb-heavy. I'll try to do better so that I don't return to the Philippines with even more weight, so wish me luck.
I've been running the numbers for the Geeky Guide, and it seems the site's growth is definitely headed in the right direction...I just don't like how long it's taking. The growth curve is potentially an exponential J-curve, so there's reason to hope. However, my targets are crazy high, and no ad revenue is coming in yet, so I really need to ramp up. This is still supposed to be a lower-effort side project on top of my day job, so I keep reminding myself to be patient. However, the site costs money, and I'm still trying to catch up on that, and I'm not sure when that's going to happen. I was hoping that the site would start generating revenue by the end of the year, but it may not get there just yet.
Just venting. I'm going to keep at it.
