03065: Preparations Begin

Wednesday - Tahanan Lunch

I skipped doing laundry yesterday because the weather forecast projected rain, even though we didn't get any. We had a similar forecast today, but I barreled through and did two loads because I need to clear the backlog for my upcoming trip. I've also been worried about the washing machine making strange noises during the spin cycle, so I've been limiting the spin velocity until I can get the machine checked. That means the laundry comes out wetter than normal and needs more time to dry. I don't know why I felt like I could push for two loads in one day while juggling work, but I can be stubborn that way. I forced the laundry, didn't get caught in any rain, but we still have towels and shirts draped over different parts of the Sietch since I didn't want to risk leaving them outside.

I'm well into my usual pre-flight routines at this point. Earlier, we had to swing by a Watsons since I needed to stock up on a few things, as I'll be out of the country for two weeks. We go through this practice every time; it's sort of comforting to get items checked off my list in this manner. I still have some pasalubong shopping to do as well, so we'll see how that plays out.

Admittedly, our weekend schedule got disrupted somewhat, so now we have a pretty clear slate ahead. I'm sure I'll end up using some of that time to settle the last of my obligations before my flight, but there's still room for replacement activities. I just need to make sure I balance things responsibly to avoid any issues before I get on the plane.

Last note: Avatar Aang was pretty good. It's a shame that it had that whole getting leaked and nearly canned snafu.
