Today was a bit of a blessing in the form of waking up to actual sunlight instead of the rain that has dominated the week thus far. I squeezed in a load to keep things moving along, and there was actually a relatively decent amount of sun to help the clothes dry. Tobie and I still had to blitz when it started to rain in the later afternoon, but at least we got some laundry done. I don't know how things will fare over the weekend. Fingers and toes crossed, and all that.
I've finally finished reading The Convenience Store by the Sea, which I started reading expecting to be a quick Japanese read, but it wasn't. But I'll concede that it's more because it wasn't a story (or set of stories) that I personally found engaging, but I'm sure others may. So now I'm finally getting started on the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, mainly because books 2-4 went on sale on the Kindle store this week. I've had the first book in the series in my digital "collection" for some time, but didn't want to start reading until I got the other books. It seems promising, but I also hope it proves to be "easier" reading for me to help me catch up with my reading goal for the year.
Looking ahead to the weekend, we don't have anything major planned for Saturday, and I'm still trying to figure out what we're going to do. It's the debut weekend for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but we also haven't had a chance to watch Nolan's The Odyssey, so that's a consideration. But as is the way of big Marvel movies, almost every cinema has dedicated its theaters to showing Spider-Man with a lot less support for older releases. We couldn't just ride that wave along with everyone else, but is that worth leaving the house for?
