03028: Market Considerations

Friday - Chicken and Cabbage

Tonight marks only the first time I've cooked dinner. I tend to fall off the wagon when we don't have access to the Kadiwa Market, as the second Sunday of the month is reserved for the more upscale Tahanan Market. Ironically, I still had some vegetables to work with, but what I didn't have were ideas of what to cook. We had reached a point where one of our main sources of protein was O Bar takeout, but we've been reducing our reliance on that as of late. That just means we need to pick up other protein when we go to the supermarket, which ironically is something we end up doing less when we have access to the Kadiwa Market. Seriously, we save so much on vegetables that way, and most of our grocery shopping tends to be roughage.

The need for a larger fridge is becoming a more urgent priority. We'll try to go fridge shopping this weekend, but I don't think we'll come to an immediate decision. The space we have available for it is quite narrow, so we have a limited range of potential options that we can theoretically work with in this case. With even a slightly bigger fridge (anything two-door!), we'll be able to stock more meat and then better work with the Kadiwa Market cycles.

Now I need to puzzle over this week's Geeky Guide update (AGAIN) and map out what board games to bring to tomorrow's game night. We'll have to leave the session early because we're also going to O Bar for the birthday event for one of the O2Men. We'll theoretically have to focus on (relatively) shorter games, but we'll see what actually hits the table.

It's going to be a busy weekend.
