Today was a lot. I can't believe I spent most of the day on essentially a single report, but that's how it is. It was an important request that I tried to make room for by working on other reports over the weekend. And that was a good thing since it took up the bulk of the day. I was eyebrows deep in numbers, and when I finally surfaced, I was surprised to realize it was already 4 in the afternoon.
At least I got it done.
I'm still going to play catch-up with my other reports this week, but I should clear things before the workweek ends. Whew. It's going to be a busy several days.
The nightly routine with the boys has evolved somewhat. I still have to read books to them and occasionally make up a story on the spot; that's still the same. But what has changed is how they interact with the experience. It's fun to relate their lived experiences to whatever is in the story, and that yields a lot more interaction. It also means that we can't quite get through a full story without supplementary commentary or requests to re-read certain portions.
It's the same routine, but things change every so slightly every time I visit. I treasure our time together, but I also recognize how fast things are changing. Time waits for no one, after all.
