02FC6: Inefficient Friday Night

Friday - Lego WALL-E & EVE

After work today, I gave in to the urge to work on the WALL-E & EVE LEGO set that had arrived recently. It was quite the fun little build with a lot of great details, including a great little cube of compacted trash for WALL-E and the famous plant-in-a-boot for EVE. Of course, I REALLY love this set for M-O. But he's a fan favorite for a reason.

I ended up working on the Keith Haring Dancing figures set after that, since Tobie was busy running an online RPG session. It was initially worried that it would be a boring build, but it actually had some novel techniques for getting all the curves right or capturing the organic poses of the figures despite the literally blocky nature of LEGO. Unfortunately, I seem to be short one tiny piece, so I've put in a request for a replacement. Hopefully, LEGO support can help, but I'm still waiting on my replacement sticker sheet for the Enterprise-D.

On the whole, this was an enjoyable yet also "inefficient" use of my Friday night. I still haven't worked on this week's Geeky Guide article, so I'll see what I can cram tonight. I can't stay up too late since Tobie has the Hobby Kaikan RPG event after lunch, but we'll see how things go.

This is the modest ridiculousness of having created work obligations outside of my actual work.
