So I've booked my Singapore work trip for this quarter, as our trip to South Korea has hit a bit of a snag. Tobie's still missing some financial documents that we need for our visa application, so it seemed prudent to get the trip out of the way, then figure out our travel plans when I get back. I had planned a reverse Holy Week situation - I'm leaving before the holiday period, but I'm flying back on Good Friday. I didn't get my preferred dates precisely - I adjusted based on prevailing ticket prices, which are starting to go quite bonkers. Thank you, War in Iran.
It's just as well that our Korea trip is on hold for now, as I doubt that airfare is going to get any better in the coming weeks. If anything, foreign carriers seem to be slower to adjust their rates versus local ones, because I ended up avoiding PAL as it was the significantly more expensive option in terms of my Singapore trip. I guess it's a good thing that we're more than happy not leaving the Sietch very much.
On the domestic front, the water came back last night just as Tobie and I were stepping out for a walk. We got to refill the tank for the most part, and that took away some of the stress. There was no water for a better part of the day (until now), and Maynilad has already announced that there won't be water for most of tomorrow either. They tend to turn the water supply back on in the middle of the night when most people are asleep - a weird method of managing their allegedly limited water supply.
My laundry is piling up, so my next load (whenever it may be) will be larger than ideal, but I figure that's worth the risk if it means we don't run out of clean clothes. And to be fair, there are only particular clothes that I need to catch up with more than others, if you get what I mean. All of this is unneeded stress, but all we can do is cope and hope for the best.
