02F94: Productive Return

Thursday - Tobie Dinner

It was the first day back at work after a rather long weekend (except for the half-day shift on Monday), and it was more of the usual busy stuff. At least I didn't have any client calls today. That gave me enough time to catch up on all the tasks that had built up over the holiday period. Good stuff.

In more exciting news, I think I'm almost ready to launch a decent working version of the new Geeky Guide site. I was able to work out the homepage design today, and that marks the last of the pages I need for a bare-minimum site launch. The site is generally mobile-responsive, which is a bit of a small miracle given that last week I felt like I needed to hire someone to clean up after me and figure out all the mobile stuff. I guess my weeks of working inside Webflow have translated into some practical skills.

What's holding me back at this point are a number of "under the hood" issues that continue to persist. Most issues are related to the old Geeky Guide blog posts that I've been trying to migrate to this new site. They're a minefield of bad formatting, outdated HTML codes that break my site template, and even insecure web links and image references (as I just discovered today). The imports continue to act up despite my best efforts to clean up the old code, and so I keep talking to the support team of the import service to try to diagnose what could be going wrong.

Just a little more!
