Despite this still being a working day (and I had so many follow-ups that I needed to resolve), the big highlight today was a family lunch at East Ocean. They announced that they're closing at the end of the year because no one else in the family seems to be willing to take on the business, so getting a table has been kinda bonkers. But we still managed to make a reservation within the duration of this trip, and we definitely wanted to go one last time. This place is near and dear to my brother-in-law, and we've had many good meals there over the years as well. The weekday menu isn't quite as awesome as their weekend options, but we still had a very good time.
And being at Ngee Ann City means a trip to Books Kinokuniya as well, so there was that. We are truly a family of nerds, as we had some silly conversations about different books that only fellow avid readers could potentially appreciate. I haven't really bought stuff in recent years, but today I managed to pick up the two latest volumes of the Saga comic, so there's that. I was still hunting for Avatar: The Last Airbender graphic novels, but could not figure out where they stash the compilations now, given the store's reduced footprint.
I still haven't wrapped my Christmas presents, and I'm still hoping to get that done tonight as it's already Christmas Eve tomorrow. I just need to raid my sister's supplies for wrapping paper.
