Big quarterly meetings at work this week, so there's a lot on my mind. I've been happy to make some progress with some organizational initiatives in recent weeks, but it also feels like there are too many steps needed before we can get to where we need to be. There's always going to be an impatience for things to get better sooner rather than later, especially when it comes to company-wide stuff. But we have to take things one step at a time - especially if we want to ensure more lasting change.
I can be patient. But I am also doing my best to speed things along.
We've started to explore the relatively recent Interview With The Vampire TV series adaptation. I'm not the biggest Anne Rice fan (although I've read a good number of her vampire books), but I can appreciate the effort that has gone into the show. As much as we all enjoyed the 1994 movie, that was still a pretty shallow effort to capture the original text as a book. Expanding it into a TV show has really provided more room for the characters to come to life.
Will this lead to us also watching Mayfair Witches, another series in the same book universe? That's anyone's guess at this point. But it'll be a while before the third season covering Lestat rolls around so...we'll see.
We're still slowly working our way through Boys Over Flowers. It still feels very problematic, but we're trying to hold on until the leads actually fall in love. I don't know if that will wipe away all the ick from the earlier episodes, but we just have to get through things.
