And that's a wrap for Komiket October 2025, and maybe our convention calendar for the year. As much as there's one more Komiket event planned for November, we're probably going to skip it in order to give Tobie more time to focus on finishing his volume 1 book. Plus, we expect things to get busier as the holiday season goes into full swing, and we don't necessarily want to add the stress of a convention on top of all that.
This second convention day ended up feeling longer than the first. I'm not quite sure if that's just because Tobie didn't have a talk in the middle of things, or if there were just a lot more people today compared to yesterday. In any case, it was a LONG day, but it did help that friends and family visited the booth today. Tobie got to engage with a lot more people today, and I'm so proud of him. Plus, I'm sure it's rather empowering to be able to tell people that the first volume is coming out early next year, whereas in previous events we didn't have a projected release date. There's no confirmed schedule yet, but Q1 sounds a lot better than "sometime next year" or something.
Whenever we participate in these conventions, I can't help but wonder what creative venture I should try to put some effort into. It should be something writing-related, of course, but whether it's a full novel or maybe a comic that someone else can illustrate...that's anyone's guess. I'm still nervous about my ability to muster the sustained effort to write a full novel right off the bat...but I'm also uncertain if I have the wit for something like a comic or a graphic novel. I know that I'm not getting any younger, but at the same time, I still don't feel like I'm truly ready to put myself out there. Personal dilemma!
But hey, it has been a good weekend overall. Our thanks to everyone who made time to drop by the Diliman Generation Now booth at Komiket October.
