So I got to see the orthopedic doctor today for a proper diagnosis (instead of just over the phone). Based on his examination, he is pretty sure this is a frozen shoulder, which could take anywhere from days to weeks, to months to get better. Naturally, I am seriously hoping it won't last more than a week or so, but it will take as long as it needs to take. He has updated my prescription with a stronger medication and a few other new things, so we'll see how all this comes together.
This is also our first experience with Unihealth Hospital, which is a rather homey one in the area. I think it's technically the closest one apart from ParaƱaque General, so it’s good that we got to check it out. I ended up taking the stairs instead of the elevator more out of Guilt because there was one main passenger elevator and we were waiting together with some other patients, so why not take six flights of stairs for the sake of steps, right?
I was really happy with the doctor that I ended up with. He didn't just try to rush to prescribing me medication, but he took the time to really explain what's going on, what the factors are that are affecting it, down to bringing out an anatomical model in the hopes of illustrating things further. I have a follow-up with him next week, and here's hoping things will be significantly better by then. Fingers crossed and all that jazz.
In other news, my being limited to one-handed eating has reduced us to mostly burgers and such. It's just as well that it's my birthday week, so I guess a little indulgent eating isn't a bad thing. But I definitely need to cut down next week - or at least when I have a second hand again, whenever that will be. That said, Wendy’s is really not that bad when you stick to their Whatabox meals. But I still think the Bacon Mushroom Melt is way too small these days. The same goes for the McDonald’s McChicken sandwich. What has happened to my old staples?
