We are finally home!
After an unexpected extension of our stay and nearly a full day of travel, we're finally back at the Sietch. We actually left the hotel at around 10:00am, but we also made several stops for pasalubong shopping for the group since we were traveling with a number of representatives from the organizers. The first stop involved puto that was being sold by the kilo, and the second stop was for bangus (of course!), where we crazily got three for P120. We didn't plan to get anything, but the deal was too good to deny.
It was a two-part journey. The arranged van took us from Pangasinan all the way back to Quezon City. Then we had to book a Grab car to get home to Parañaque. We got to QC around 05:00pm and didn't have to wait too long for a ride, surprisingly enough. But it was still a crawl across Metro Manila, and we got back to the Sietch close to 08:00pm. It has been a DAY.
And then...it was just a long road trip. I finished the second of the Kamogawa Food Detective books during the drive back and also finished The Paper Magician. And despite all the distance, I know I'm not going to hit my step goal for today, despite the many kilometers covered.
But the day isn't over yet. We're committed to going to Katkat's O Bar birthday show tonight, so we're just resting a bit before heading out again. Wish us luck! We'll survive the night somehow.
