02E86: Sunday Notes

Sunday - Friday Gamers

So we played more than two games during last night's game night...but we also played all the same games that we played on Friday night. Apart from the big games, Unconscious Mind and Galactic Cruise, we also included a round of Splendor: Pokémon and the first two levels of Mists Over Carcassonne. This may not seem like a lot, but it was certainly a fun night given how good the heavy games are. And more than anything, it's just such a pleasure to game with good friends like these.

In more mundane news, my domain transfer for Baduy Pride finally kicked in this morning - exactly 6 days after I initiated the transfer to Namecheap. The only hiccup was that none of my DNS settings were transferred over from Squarespace. This is, admittedly, quite understandable since all my previous domain transfers involve direct handoffs across companies. This was the first time I had initiated a transfer outside of Google & Friends, so I also didn't know how things would go. But this first has proven to be successful after some last-minute Googling in order to figure out where to find my Blogger DNS settings to be used to get the domain working again.

So, for the few of you who weren't able to load Baduy Pride in the wee hours of this morning, that's why.

Because this worked out, I've gone ahead and initiated domain transfers for the Geeky Guide along with this personal blog. The expanded VAT rules are going to take effect soon, so I might as well process any online transactions sooner rather than later. And this time, I know what to expect, so I'll be on standby to process the necessary DNS changes once the domains get ported over. Then I'll be done with Squarespace for my personal stuff, and I'll be able to think about more important things.

Last bit - we watched Wish World, the first part of the season 2 finale for the Disney+ version of Doctor Who. Have any of you seen it? I know it's not quite a finished story since we still have the finale next week. However, this first part was rather lackluster with some very groan-worthy moments. We need friends to rant to - I think Davies isn't going to stick the landing.
