02E58: Valorous Efforts

Wednesday - Sietch Dinner

It's the Day of Valor (Araw ng Kagitingan) today, and I still had work. And it was a rather busy work day with two important client meetings regarding very different things. The first one was more of a clarificatory meeting, so the only thing stressful about it was the fact that it was scheduled at the beginning of the day. The second was for a proposal we had submitted, so it was really a pitch of sorts, and I always get nervous about these things. I think it went - they had quite a number of questions, and I think I nerded out at some point. We'll see how things go.

I managed two loads of laundry today amid everything else going on today. The weather was horribly hot, but at least that was great for drying the laundry efficiently. And I was able to refill the water tank after all that - always a blessing since Maynilad has an advisory out that we can expect low to water pressure in the daytime until the 17th. In any case, we're doing our best to refill the tank daily for as long as the water is flowing normally. Southie things.

Final note: I finished two books tonight. First was another Mechwarrior: Dark Age novel, The Ruins of Power. This was a BattleMech-lite story because of the setting and I can see that I'm going to struggle through this effort to read all of the Dark Age books.

The second book was Tarantadong Kalbo Nosebleed Edition, an English translation of selected material from TK's entire library of strips, including stuff not yet compiled in previous volumes. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from the book, but I was curious to see how his humor would translate and...it totally did. I've promised TK that I'll have a full review out once Goodreads has a proper entry for the title. TL;DR - I enjoyed it a lot.
