We survived our crazy Friday night/Saturday agenda, but I should keep this post short as we need to catch up on sleep.
Friday night was the birthday show of the of the O Divas, so we totally had to go. It was one of those rare times we were unable to gather a proper table group for the event, so ended up getting a small table instead. Luckily, a Singapore colleague and his friend had committed to joining us while in town, so that helped round out our little table. The show was a lot of fun in its own way. I love how each O Diva birthday show feels so distinct because it really does cater to the interests and sensibilities of the spotlight queen. It's a great reminder that drag is amazingly diverse and other are so many facets to the art form.
We needed some sleep before Komiket today, and slept longer than we planned to but still not as much as we needed to. We arrived at the venue closer to noon, but I don't think we missed too much. I got to explore the exhibits for a bit before I parted ways with Tobie to make my way even further north for a birthday party.
It seems to cost me nearly a thousand pesos whenever I need to take a Grab - and this accounts for both ways. It was more expensive to go to and from BGC on a weekday versus getting to and from UP Diliman when coming from SM Megamall. But yeah, painful travel option for now but it's still my default until I can figure out something more convenient.
It was a little weird to be at children's birthday party when I only really knew the father of the celebrant. But hey, ninong duties are important, even if we're godparents to the married couple and not directly for the child. They went rather all-out for the event for a 1-year-old - full catering, a One Piece theme, and even a magician! There was a lot of fun for everyone and I'm glad that I made the trek north. Then I had to get back to Tobie.
We're going to take it easy tonight since there's still another day of Komiket tomorrow. I need to charge all my devices again to be better prepared for the day. We'll see how things go.
