I am back at the Sietch and once again Tobie and I are at our dining table/work table. We have The Witcher playing on Netflix and we're busy with our respective things any only look up to talk occasionally. This is not evidence of tension or a fight between us - it's just how we at when we're at home. And it's so good to be home.
My journey home was largely uneventful, which is the best kind of trip home. I did my best to spend time with the nephews before leaving and at least got a hug from the older one while the younger one was giving me the stink eye because I was going. We had been trying to prepare him for my departure with reminders that I was going, but his responses were typically along the lines of demanding that I stay instead. It was both touching and quite bossy.
Bag drop and immigration at the airport didn't even take 10 minutes and I spent a better part of my time at the terminal looking for pasalubong to bring home. I had a general idea of what I wanted to get people but then I realized I had forgotten a few others and so I had to go around a few more times to find options. Apart from munchies, an inadvertent theme for our gifts is health & wellness and I hope people appreciate what we've gotten them.
I had a good meal on the plane. I finished Kraven the Hunter (since I had started watching it during my flight into Singapore), then followed it up with The Color Purple musical. We arrived a good 30 minutes ahead of our schedule and I had no issues with the Philippine Immigration e-gates today (always a blessing!) Tobie had managed to come to pick me up and we got to explore the multi-level parking for the first time - and got a little lost trying to find the exit (as opposed to the pick-up area)
I had scheduled a spa date for us during the flight and we made it just in time for their "early bird" promo. It was certainly a nice way to celebrate my coming home and it was also sort of a deferred couple's activity for Wheelie Day. We booked the couple's package, which they had been upselling to us for some time now. The main benefit was access to a personal sauna pod, which was the main thing I wanted to try. We haven't really had a chance to enjoy a spa with facilities like that for a while now given a reliance on home service therapists in BGC and straight-up massages here in ParaƱaque.
Then it was a quick dinner since we wanted to get back home to fill up our pails again - Maynilad has been confusing about when the next water service interruption is going to be. I think someone in their social media team doesn't understand which day to declare an interruption scheduled to start at midnight.
It's good to be back.
