Today is Wheelie Day, one of our three important dates alongside NetRunner night at our anniversary. So after our gaming guest left...we kept gaming.
We started with an Exit: the Game scenario, because these are always fun to play through when it's just the two of us. Last night's case was The Professor's Last Riddle...and it was definitely one of the more fun Exits. I don't need them to be overly convoluted because a lot of times the more "difficult" puzzles end up being rather contrived in how they try to make things harder. I appreciate a healthy amount of challenge without making it feel too random or arbitrary.
And while it was pretty late (or early in the morning), we risked trying to learn a new board game. We try to reserve such actions for earlier in the night when our brains are more active, but this game felt feasible enough to tackle. The game is Meenakshi Temple, which I mainly became interested in because of the towers that everyone ends up building and the fact that we don't have a lot of games that celebrate Indian culture like this. I'm all for games that try to spread awareness of what can be misconstrued as being more niche by others.
So we learned a total of 6 new games this weekend starting from Friday night, so that's something. Tackling new titles means we're in a better position to host game nights with friends in the future. When you have a game collection as large as ours, you know you're taking on the responsibility of actually teaching everyone else how to play your games in order to make the most of them.
There have been no other major activities for the day, although I did get a foot spa and tried riding a tricycle home. Tobie just helped me cut my hair and we had a pretty good dinner. We've binging Abbott Elementary as comfort-watching, so it's a good day and a good weekend all around. A last O Bar run is in order before my work trip.
I should probably do all my pre-flight stuff tonight. I'm flying to Singapore tomorrow night so you know how that rigamarole goes for me.
