02E2C: Pre-Flight Sietch Agenda

Monday - Tahanan Lunch

As far as Mondays go, today was pretty okay. Just a lot of things that needed doing, particularly a lot of payday-related prep work.

We didn't cook at all last week, so we're hoping to address that this week. My credit card is running a little heavy with the regular food delivery expenses for most days, so it's something on my mind. Our main challenge is that all cooking is done in the kitchen in the main house versus our separate little unit so...laziness tends to win out. Instead of taking the time to cook, we have to think about going up and prepping things and then bringing the food back down. It's not a LOT of effort, but it does make ordering dinner via Foodpanda a lot more tempting despite the more limited range of restaurants available in the area. And to add insult to injury, most of our delivery options aren't very keto, so I've been off my diet for over a month now - and I can feel the extra weight.

We haven't made progress with arranging the home office in the main house, which would really help us be more motivated to cook. Since we'd be in the same house anyway, it'll be an easier transition to prepare the meal right after work. That largely requires resolving the books that we've dumped there together with the two hardware shelves, which may or may not be sufficient for all the books there. Then we need to figure out how to arrange the tables and determine what to do with the older equipment that has been left there and other little things. It's not very complex work, but we just need to allocate time for it.

For now, the plan is to work on the office tomorrow after work and go from there. Tobie has an online RPG session every Wednesday, so maybe I'll end up working on the office on my own a bit or I'll just focus on my O Bar videos. And Thursday is another day we can work on that since Friday we've been gaming with our regular Friday group, albeit online instead of in person (for now?). We're expecting a friend to come over for board games on Saturday, so that'll take the day. Then Sunday is possibly another day for working on the office, provided we don't get too lazy to do so.

That's the game plan for the week. The sooner we can get the office set up, the better we'll be able to get back into the habit of cooking our own meals. And that'll help me get back to being more strict with keto. And finally, this will help us save money on excessive food deliveries and also put us in a better position to handle the hotter summer months once they come around.

And it would be nice to get all this addressed before I fly out to Singapore for mty first work trip of the year.

Let's do this.
