Alpaka's Black Friday sale went live tonight, and I decided to pick up some items that I've been eyeing for some time without waiting for my next credit card cycle date later this week. I may do another order once my card cycles as part of potential Christmas shopping, provided I figure out what to get people. If any of you decide to check it out, I have a referral code because I'm that guy. It's a new mission to convert more people in my circle to this brand, haha
On the flip side, I tried to find a replacement for my last pair of Sketchers sandals that had finally died on me after several years of use. SM Aura does not seem to carry more sandals of that nature and their slip-on shoes are crazy expensive. I only want something comfortable to wear and walk in for modest walks in the immediate area without needing to lace up shoes and such. I may have to explore other sandal options or maybe even take the plunge with something like Crocs. I've never actually tried Crocs and maybe that's the way to go for more casual footwear. I'm not keen on slipper-style sandals as that feels a bit too casual to be practical if that even makes sense.
So now I have to keep an eye out for sandals or slip-on alternatives that won't break the bank. We'll see how that goes. Maybe I just need to find a proper dedicated Sketechers store versus limiting myself to an SM Department store.
Lastly, tonight's grocery run was okay but a little unsatisfactory. Beyond the typical challenge of random fresh items not being available for purchase, the average price of different vegetables seems to be on the rise or are refusing to go down. It's easy to complain about the likes of cauliflower and broccoli as these are ALWAYS expensive, but now even things like heads of cabbage and bell papers seem even more expensive than usual. I don't think we're already experiencing the Christmas-related spike in prices, so it's something else in the Metro Manila supply chain. Frustrating!
And that's how our week is starting.
