It's 11.11 today, and it marks one of the rare instances when Tobie and I were able to take advantage of the mega sale to get some Christmas shopping done. Usually, I just use sale periods to resupply keto or coffee things ranging from keto peanut butter that I can snack on to vanilla-flavored coffee beans. So adding in early Christmas shopping is quite atypical for us - at best we try to squeeze things in during 12.12, but typically end up shopping in person.
But the early gifts we worked on purchasing today...were for our O Bar family. And I'm not even talking about friends we see at the bar. I'm talking about the performers and other staff who keep the magic going night after night. It's a tradition that we had started right before the pandemic and had managed to keep up with ever since they allowed the bar to re-open. Our gifts tend to be on the practical side, but I'm rather excited about something we have selected for this year. I think we only shopped at local sellers, but getting gifts this early does allow for the risks of any overseas sellers in the mix.
I still plan to get some gifts from Alpaka (Referral Link) - I just need to figure out what I want to get for whom. I'm waiting for my credit card cycle to change before I make more purchases and if I'm lucky I'll catch a sale or something. We'll see how things go, but I am rather excited about things. Since when did I get excited about bags and other travel gear? LOL
Beyond that, I'm sure this is going to be another busy workweek ahead. At least we have our anniversary weekend to look forward to. We're going to have a nice lunch, an O Bar musicals night, and an RPG session to boot. So yeah, all the things we enjoy in a single weekend.
