After watching Little Shop of Horrors yesterday, we arranged to meet up with a friend at Tang, the Korean restaurant that we're super in love with because she was a big part of our Kdrama fan life. It allowed us to order more items than usual and it was a great dinner. We even followed it up with some bingsu next door because of course, we needed to complete the Korean meal experience.
We opted to meet up since we had agreed to play board games at our place after even though we had been up all Friday night playing board games via Board Game Arena. Being able to play board games online is a gift but there's still more fun to be had in person.
Our main priority was to continue with The Initiative as it is a bit of a campaign game given the story it's trying to tell across the chapters. It's all about code-breaking and solving puzzles and it's quite a lot of fun. We played through a total of 4 chapters with one of them being our first lost game among the 7 we've played thus far. I think we're about halfway through the chapters but it still feels like there's so much story left.
The rest of the night involved a good mix of different games. I had a very fun run for Prêt-à-Porter last night and ended with over 500 points. We had our first playthrough of the cooperative game ALIEN: Fate of the Nostromo, which was an interesting effort to capture the first Alien movie in a game. It's not quite as fun as the Jaws game released by the same publisher but still pretty good. And finally we wrapped up with the silliness of Don't L.L.A.M.A. Dice because I had run out of brain cells by that time in the morning.
Today was extra fun since we finally got to resume our long-delayed Pendragon game. It was a little challenging to get back into character at first, but we were all back to our knightly selves soon enough. It was a good warm-up session as we needed to shake off the cobwebs that had built up since we had last played back in April. Plus we could only go so far as our characters are going to war in the next session.
With luck, we'll also get our Horror on the Orien Express game back on track soon. We have to get these campaigns moving again.
