02C5E: Internal Change Management

Tuesday - Pork Chop

I decided to rip off the Band-Aid and immediately switched to reading my digital comics on the Kindle app instead of the soon-to-be-retired Comixology app. The transition has been painless thus far and it seems that all my comics are accessible within the Kindle app. I didn't lose any of my reading progress and I'm able to seamlessly switch between the web-based Cloud Reader and the app - at least for comics. There's still a bit of a snag when it comes to switching between my actual Kindle device and the app, but it has always been that way since Kindles aren't always actively connected to the internet when not in use.

It's a weird little transition, but it's not terrible. It's easy to instinctively want to complain about change and resist that sort of thing, but there's not much that can be done about a lot of things in life. And there's little chance of reversing any decisions made by huge global tech companies. The current experience is certainly different, but not too far away from what we used to have before. And that'll work for now, at least. We should appreciate when we get to continue with our lives despite big changes.

I've been meaning to jog in the morning as a way to better address my weight without risking injury with my other app-based workouts. Today was not the day that I managed that as I had rationalized different reasons for staying in. Initially, it was quite sunny and that didn't seem like fun jogging weather. But by the time I actually got out of the bedroom some 30 minutes later, it had actually turned a bit overcast - which would have been nice jogging weather. The sun is the big risk factor when it comes to jogging in the daytime, but jogging after work just doesn't quite appeal to me. I really do enjoy physical activity in the morning to help get the day started and I don't like eating into shared Tobie time after work.

I just have to find a way to make this work again. And I probably need to consider new jogging shoes soon.

Beyond that, it was a pretty busy but productive day. I just had a bit of temporal confusion as I was preparing to write this post. I'm not sure why, but I thought it was Thursday for a moment. I had to mentally count backwards until I got to the correct day of the week and I can only wonder why my brain tried to jump ahead like that. I still have a lot to do and I don't want to lose time haha

It's only Tuesday.
