0308B: Geekery Back on Track

Sunday - J.Co Donuts

It has been a while since I've updated on the review count on the Geeky Guide. That's mainly been because my progress slowed down once I hit the 400-450 review block, since it felt like a fairly stable number, and I have so many other things to do. The biggest impetus to write more reviews is when I want to cite them in the long-form articles I write for the site, which are really more of an SEO/GEO play. It's a bit of a chicken-and-egg situation since I write the longer pieces to support the reviews, but I also need to write more reviews to flesh out my articles. Today we're finally at 500 board game reviews, and I think I have enough motivation to get back to more regular updates. Hopefully, getting to 550 and later 600 reviews won't take as long as getting to 500.

We were hoping to get a massage last night, but none of our semi-regular home therapists were available. So we finished getting caught up on VisionQuest before calling it a night. That meant we actually woke up in the morning so Tobie could catch this week's Kadiwa Market while I did laundry and refilled the water tank. That last task took longer than expected, so Tobie had to take over while I had to jump into our bi-weekly family book club call.

The main activity for today was our Horror on the Orient Express RPG session. This game is still in the process of coming back to life after going on hiatus for several months. We finally managed one session in August, but weren't so lucky in September. So it was to get the group together this month with the promise of at least one more confirmed session in November. December is a bit up in the air, as is the nature of games during the peak holiday period.

Now if only my website traffic would scale at the same rate as I get these reviews published. That's the dream right there.
