Our Komiket weekend had a bit of a bumpy start. We weren't in too much of a rush this morning since Tobie's workshop isn't until tomorrow. But opting to go to SM Megamall without a lot of buffer time meant we ran right into some pretty hectic Saturday traffic, and then couldn't find parking in any of Megamall's parking structures. I had not considered that it was a payday weekend and a big sale day at SM, so there were a lot of people at the mall right at opening. We ended up parking in the open lot beside Podium, which charges an arm and a leg per hour versus the flat rate at the mall. At least we found parking - Tobie had been prepared to call it if we didn't find parking there and just abort his entire Komike appearance.
As Tobie is sharing a table with another exhibitor, he only had one chair dedicated to his side, and the third chair alternated between the other exhibitor and us. But since we had arrived so late, it felt more polite to let him and his girlfriend/partner take the chair for most of the day. Initially, I stayed at the venue and made my rounds of the other booths to kill time. But eventually, I'd just stand by one side and read more books on my phone or on my Kindle until Tobie would force me to take the chair for a while.
That said, it means I did most of my spending today since I got to visit all the booths multiple times today. As this is the Komiket All Original edition, there were a good number of creators who had comics, zines, and books of their own, so I had way too many options to consider. I think I picked up some particularly interesting titles, along with some early Christmas gifts and a rather Cronenberg pin for Tobie. I'll try not to spend tomorrow, but we'll see. I'm rather poor at not spending money at Komiket events.
Well, we gotta call it a night early so that we're not too late for Megamall parking. One more Komiket day to go!

I LOVE MY TOOTH EYE PIN
