0307A: Tech Timing

Thursday - Sietch Pasta

So it seems it was good that I delayed my plan to sign up for Marvel Unlimited, as they just announced that they're shutting down the service. It's not the end for unlimited digital Marvel comics, however, as they're launching a new Marvel Comics app based on the Webtoon platform early next year. I still have more than enough digital comics in my backlog to go through in the interim, so my unlimited Marvel geekery will have to wait. That may have a bit of an impact on my reading goals for the year, as I was really banking on the added motivation of going through newer Marvel comics content to help fill some of the gaps in my current reading "needs". At the very least, I won't have to go through any sort of ugly account migration process - and I've had more than my fair share of those.

That said, I haven't been reading a lot of comics lately, mainly because I'm kinda pressured on the book front. I have the main family book club (which has been tackling some pretty heavy titles lately), but I now have a side book club just with my mom so we can read The Pillars of the Earth together (also a heavy book). I still have a book for my personal enjoyment, but that only takes me so far. At least I can now get some audiobook listening done while working, so that's adding to my reading "productivity".

We're watching Bongga Ka Day tomorrow after work, which marks the first of many plays we're going to watch this quarter and the first that we're watching this coming weekend. I kinda got trigger-happy booking things to watch, and now we have to juggle our schedule to make our way to the different shows alongside other geeky obligations.
