Today's return trip home had a very bittersweet start. The boys were aware I was flying home today and were going to see me off at the airport, but responded to the situation in different ways. The younger one played it cool and tried to ignore me, albeit while also interrogating everyone about my whereabouts if I disappeared from sight. The older one was the opposite and kept trying to get my attention. They have a limited tool set for expressing their feelings fully, but I know both of them well enough to get the message. Parting is never easy, and I know the boys would be a lot happier if I didn't live so far away.
Our goodbyes before I went into the terminal were particularly emotional. The older one actually say down and wrapped himself around my leg as our final goodbye. The younger one just bopped his head against my stomach a few more times. I'm gonna miss both of them so much.
The flight itself was decent enough. It was a full flight and I had no choice but take a seat between two other passengers. Thankfully, the one with the window seat was determined not to interact with anyone else and the guy along the aisle just wanted to sleep. I also managed yo avoid needing to use the bathroom, so we all got along. My food was a little weird but palatable. My entertainment was a little mindless, but that was by design since I didn't want to watch anything I wanted watch together with Tobie.
Tobie picked me up at the airport, which always makes for a cheesy moment. We had toyed with booking tickets to watch Forgotten Island, but the limited seats that I saw were still available during my flight were all sold out by the time I landed. That's just a well as I was quite tired and wanted to clear my last O Bar videos, so we settled for exploring another coffee shop in BF before dinner.
I'm officially home, everyone. Back to work tomorrow.
