Today, I learned that my younger nephew is counting down the days until I go home. The fact that this number is getting smaller and smaller particularly upset him today, as he thought I wouldn't be around for his brother's birthday. While he can't immediately determine what day of the week it is, he does have a decent sense of how many "sleeps" until something is going to happen. It's rather touching but also slightly stressful, as he's never happy when it's time for me to go home.
As much as client meetings take up a lot of time in my workday, they can be quite enjoyable. Today we met one of our longer-term clients that we had yet to meet in person. After over a year of online calls to coordinate different campaigns, it was nice to have lunch together. It was worth the time away from my computer for sure, although I had a fair amount of catching up that I needed to do once we got back.
I'm here for 3 more nights, then it'll be time for my flight home. Nearly two weeks have gone by so quickly.
