0305D: Double Event Tuesday

Tuesday - Cabbage & Giniling

Today is Mother Mary's birthday, and the main gift of the day has been rain. But we didn't get a crazy amount of rain during the day - we even had some sunshine in the afternoon (that was too late for laundry). But it has been pouring cats and dogs again this evening, so it's good that we stayed in and managed to cook dinner instead of ordering out.

Today also marks the 60th anniversary of Star Trek, based on the date of its very first broadcast. There's a lot of cool Star Trek-related announcements already out there. It's just as well that my current personal reading has a lot of Star Trek books in queue after my adventures with Dungeon Crawler Carl and Murderbot. And I've just queued Patrick Stewart's autobiography as my current audiobook! I remain a very proud Trekkie after all these years, and it's good to see the franchise going strong (more or less). The utopian fundamentals of the Star Trek future continue to inspire something in me and I hope that its unique science fiction magic continues to touch the hearts of future fans in the years to come.

Work was just work-ish. We're still watching Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung and have returned to the UK original version of Ghosts. We're also finally getting started with the latest season of Reacher, and I realized too late that I had yet to read the book that this season is based on. I'll swing back to Reacher eventually, at the very least after my Star Trek run.

Not much else to write about beyond that. I'm kinda tempted to jot down more of my thoughts on drag similar to my post about the mic stand ballad, but we'll see if I get around it.
