0305C: Monday Excursion

Monday - Nanyang Wall Decal

Work went as well as could be expected for a Monday. We still had a lot to do, but at least there weren't too many distractions or complications. And I ended my day on time, so that's good, too.

It was raining pretty hard by the time I finished work, and that left us with the question of what to do for dinner. I could have cooked something, but I was also feeling rather lazy. The weather made us feel bad about ordering something for delivery. Tobie offered to drive out to pick something up, but then we figured that would take the same amount of effort as us just going out for dinner together, so we ended up heading down to SM BF to settle some errands at the same time.

At SM, we tend to default to eating at Nanyang, as most of other places don't feel worth it. It just looks a little funny since we usually order their chicken rice set with some kaya toast on the side. It's not quite a breakfast meal, but it's rather close, especially since we tend to get kopi at the same time. It's interesting that the SM BF branch has shifted to a Clean as You Go model, which feels almost Singaporean. But they don't have a proper tray return area, so they've converted one of the ledges at the back of the restaurant into a place to deposit plates and such. That space doesn't have direct access to the kitchen, so it's not the best option, and a member of the staff has to regularly stand there and sort through the dirty dishes. It's something.

It wasn't raining by the time we left SM, which is just as well. Let's hope the weather remains calmer for the rest of the night - or the rest of the week even.
