Today's sticker shock realization: Was Pepper Lunch always that expensive? I know it has been a long time since we last ate at a Pepper Lunch Express in a food court, but I don't remember the per-person financial outlay being over P500. Crazy. Did this change come along after they started having their own sit-down restaurants? Or is this just an inflation thing, and it just shows we haven't had Pepper Lunch in years?
This was our dinner after Tobie's short Komiket Pasig signing window. We didn't get a full booth this weekend, but Tobie still had a talk and was available to sign copies of his book. This weekend's event is the full Komiket experience, which means it's an art market and venue for creators, not just comics. And you can feel the greater diversity in the booths and the people who show up. Tobie still got to talk to a few folks about his book, especially after his talk, so that's good. This is all part of the ongoing marketing efforts trying to push the book further.
The only other thing for this weekend is that we actually had an impromptu game night last night. We have a new friend in the area who has gamed with us twice now, and it turned out he was free last night. So he came over for a quick session, and we got to play Tenby, Magical Athlete, and Cities. Funnily enough, we're scheduled to game with him on Sunday afternoon, and he's also supposed to join us at O Bar tonight for Popstar Bench's birthday show, so he's our recurring guest for the whole weekend.
It was nicely sunny this morning, but it seems the rains are back tonight. Let's hope for kinder weather.
