03023: PICOF 2026 Day 3

Sunday - PICOF Day 3 Things

We woke up to fiercely pouring rain that got us rather worried about the turnout for PICOF Day 3. Things generally abated by the time we left the Sietch, but Tobie and I remained on alert for things shifting back to rain. And while we didn't expect today to be as busy as Saturday had been, we were hoping for a stronger showing than Friday.

At least I got to catch Pura Luka Vega to sign a copy of her Vaklat comic (together with artist Jap Mikel), so that was cool. A few friends dropped by as well, and I spent some time going around the event with them to aid in their investments in the local comics creator community. Tobie had a fairly busy day, and we at least surpassed the Friday sales numbers AND managed to work through all the inventory he had requested during the event. People can continue to order Diliman Generation Now online via Komiket, or they can wait for Tobie's next book signing event.

We're tired but very fulfilled. It was a joy to watch Tobie interact with different booth visitors and still end up being pleasantly surprised when they'd say they wanted to buy his book. The weekend was filled with a lot of familiar faces and some old contacts coming out of the woodwork. In turn, I also got to engage with a lot of different creators and shared direct feedback about the stories they had brought to life through the magic of comics. We've been going to these events for a few years now, and that has been more than enough time to forge friendships and really feel that sense of community with a diverse range of creators.

Thanks to everyone who managed to visit Tobie's booth this weekend. Thanks to all the creators who braved nasty weather to share their art with everyone. Thanks to everyone who celebrated comic book creations from across the region.
