0301D: Meaningful Compliance

Monday - Nanyang Chicken Rice

In my call center/audit days, one phrase we'd throw around here and there was "meaningful compliance" in response to the results of a third-party audit. It was a nice way of saying that we'd try really hard to comply with their rules - eve if we technically may fall short. I've been thinking about this a lot with regard to a lot of my "dailies", a list of things I try to hit every day. The list has evolved over time to reduce the number of things I hold myself accountable to. But the big things remain there like hitting my 10k steps per day, always reading something, and drinking at least 2 liters of water a day. I've gotten rid of a number of things that were just too hard to keep up without sacrificing time for more important things like gaming with friends and such.

That said, there's still a lot of things I juggle and I do my best to stay focused on making sure my time is well-spent. I complain a lot about "falling behind" for a number of things like my reading queue or all the O Bar videos I have left to process, but those are the kicks.

It has been an eventful weekend and a relatively busy Monday. July continues on.
