The highlight of today is that my Alpaka order arrived today. I've been pretty good with resisting purchasing new Alpaka products, but I've been somewhat struggling with getting full utility from my Bravo Sling Mini v2. I got it because it (1) was on sale and (2) was a bit larger than my existing Flight Sling (which is my EDC), as I wanted an alternate bag that would allow me to bring a few more items with me. It served this purpose decently enough, but the size difference wasn't significant enough to really make a huge difference. Then the main strap wasn't the most comfortable and had a tendency to get looser over the course of wearing it, so I had been contemplating getting a different bag, and the Flow Satchel seemed to be a good option since it's supposed to handle double the volume that the Flight Sling can and has some interesting features like a dedicated water bottle pouch on the exterior.
But I didn't want to rush into a purchase, so I figured that I should wait for the next big Alpaka sale or something. There have been some modest offers on the main website, but nothing significant enough to make me go for it. Then, I started to see their new local TikTok channel becoming active with live selling videos pretty much every day. I didn't pay them much mind at first, but when I finally started tuning in, I realized that their flash deals were pretty aggressive with discounts higher than what I'd normally see on the main web store. I tried to hold off until my next credit card cycle, but then there was a series of sales that included a gift with purchase with a minimum spend amount that fell within even the discounted price for the Flow Satchel. So I gave in, ordered the bag, and got a free Micro Tote as part of the deal, which is a crazy good offer. It was just weird to order it from their TikTok shop instead of their official webstore, but everything seemed legitimate, so I went with it.
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with my older Bravo Sling Mini, but Tobie is already saying he can make use of it. I've barely used it, and could probably resell it, but I was supposed to do the same thing with my original Flight Sling, and no one has offered to buy it on Facebook Marketplace just yet.
