It's really hard to stomach the news coming out of the Senate ever since the latest change in leadership. The kind of pronouncements being made and the discussions being entertained are absolutely ridiculous. Watching the short clips on social media is more than enough to get my blood boiling. It has barely been 24 hours since things moved around, but you can tell how things are going to go in the coming weeks.
I feel the need to retreat into increasingly shallower entertainment to compensate. Our current K-Drama is still the very stupid Welcome to Waikiki. It feels more like a series of comedic sketches than a show with a longer narrative arc, but it's just enough to help distract us from the daily grind. And since we've already wrapped up watching the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, we're now back to watching 9-1-1. If we run out of episodes, there are still 9-1-1 spin-offs to occupy us should we feel so inclined. This franchise is a major guilty pleasure for us.
At least my asthma is relatively better than last week. I still get wheezy in the wee hours of the night, but at least it doesn't persist as much throughout the day. It helps to keep the AC running as much as possible as that seems to alleviate the worst of my symptoms. But at least I don't feel the need to take cough meds anymore. Improvement!
Let's just hope the rest of the week somehow goes better. I'm not holding my breath, but it never hurts to hope.
