First, Happy Mother's Day to you and yours. There are mothers and those who mother and so much more. You are all individuals worth celebrating.
We played some pretty heavy games last night, which limited the total number of games we could play, but that didn't diminish the fun we had. I already mentioned we played a 3-player round of MTG Commander, followed by Ada's Dream in yesterday's blog post. I thought I had snagged it, but Tobie managed to beat me by 8 points. That game took quite an amount of time to get through, and then we played a quick round of Trishaw Frenzy as a last game with all 4 of us present. Our final game of the night was a 3-player round of Unconscious Mind with a lot of the optional modules added in, which made for a more challenging game experience. One thing led to another, and it ended up being one of my best games ever, with well over 200 points. Crazy times!
We ended pretty late (or very early this morning) and tried to squeeze in a few hours of sleep before Mother's Day lunch with Tobie's family. It was a very hearty Japanese lunch at the Alabang Country Club, so much so that Tobie and I still feel so full until now. We tried swinging by the monthly village market on the way back, but didn't see anything of interest. We did finally get to try the soft serve ice cream that one of our neighbors sells, and it wasn't too bad.
Stay cool, everyone. The heat has been rather intense this week.
