02FE0: Health Hiccups

Wednesday - O Bar Chicken Poppers & Cabbage

My asthma has been elevated recently, more so this week than last. This manifests mainly at night, which has always been my pattern, but it's not like the evenings feel particularly different from the day, apart from the temperature. Even then, the last few nights haven't felt too warm versus the other week, and I really start wheezing as the night progresses. The other consideration is that we tend to use the AC during the day, so it doesn't add to our work stress, but we don't use it at night.

To be fair, it's not purely asthma, as my main symptom is throat irritation and coughing. The wheezing only comes at night, and using my inhaler doesn't provide total relief. I've been taking cough medicine throughout the day to help cope with things, and that seems to help. Although today was the first time I woke up with my throat actually feeling sore - something that passed quickly after some pei pa koa and water. Still, that was a new consideration, and I hope it won't develop into anything more serious.

I don't want to get back on maintenance or anything, so we'll see how this goes. Admittedly, I really should be more keto/low-carb to help things along. Carbs don't necessarily trigger my asthma, at least based on my experience. But I do note that I have fewer attacks when I consistently eat low carb, so that feels like something to get back to, in order to help things along. We've been trying, but, of course, Tobie's birthday week was pretty indulgent.
