Monday was very Monday for me in terms of work. It's the start of a new month, which means I have to work on the reports covering last month's activities, and that's going to keep me busy for the rest of the week. I also have some ongoing firefighting that hasn't fully resolved, which will also stress me out over the next day or so, at least.
We've been so busy the past week that I've barely been cooking meals at the Sietch. I tried to address that today and whipped out a quick pasta, but it came out a little bland. This is one of many pastas that I've been adjusting to involve less sodium, so I've begun to skip adding a soup bouillon to help round out the sauce base. This is not the first time I've skipped the step, but things just didn't come out as expected. Maybe it was because I didn't have as diverse a range of vegetables to use. I probably could have used more herbs and spices as an alternative to salt and other sodium-based flavor additives we all typically use. The struggle is real. At least dinner was still generally palatable. It just wasn't very striking. I'll do better next time.
Otherwise, we're starting a few new shows to keep the cycle going. Our new Korean show is Welcome to Waikiki, since I was hoping for something lighter. However, this one feels a lot more low-brow than what I was aiming for, but we'll get through it. On the flip side, we're finally diving into the second season of Beef, and it is already feeling worlds better than the first season. I know a lot of people love it, but the constant irrational rage got tiring really fast. This second season is starting out a lot more nuanced, but with so many plates spinning in the air. We're just waiting for the Fiasco to resolve fully.
