02FC8: More Sunday Stories

Sunday - Tahanan Cat

A few stories.

Early this morning, we ordered breakfast from McDonald's, but one of the sandwiches was missing from the delivery. So in full irony, Tobie drove out to the branch to settle the missing sandwich, which kind of made the delivery moot. But at the very least, they threw in extra fries as an apology. This experience taught us that the official McDonald's app does not have a channel for reporting order errors.

The second Sunday of every month is the Tahanan Market day at the village multi-purpose hall. Most of the vendors are food-related, so Tobie and I made the trek as our lunch for today despite the heat. I've slowly been working through the various coffee vendors at these events, as there are a lot of gimmicky offerings. We had a mixed meal of Mexican for me and chicken inasal for Tobie, but it was fun overall. We're still happier with the Kadiwa market that takes place on all other Sundays of the month because it means high-quality produce at much more affordable rates.

Last night we watched the first half of Heated Rivalry (finally!), but the second half of the season will probably have to wait for Tobie to get back from his Iloilo trip. Today, we watched Eternity, and it was a pretty good romance movie with some particularly good bits of writing. The last thing in rotation is making sure we finish all episodes of Pluto before Tobie flies off. We'll definitely clear this show by tomorrow, then that won't be hanging over our heads for the rest of the week.

Tobie flies out on Tuesday, so we still have tonight and tomorrow together. It's a short trip - or at least shorter than my quarterly Singapore trips. But the Sietch will be very quiet without him all the same.
