I'm back in Manila after a rather packed flight out of Changi. My usual strategy for trying to secure an empty seat beside mine didn't work, which just speaks to how full the flight was. But to add insult to injury, the guy who took the center seat was initially sitting in my seat and was rather annoying the whole flight since he was taking up a lot of space and such. He actually wanted to get past me while I was waiting for our section to start disembarking, and I had to counter that there was no point in him rushing forward since no one was moving. One of those trips.
But everything before and after the flight was great.
My sister and the whole family took me to the airport, and we made a morning of it. We had breakfast at the airport, and they helped me with my bags. It made for another bittersweet goodbye before I queued for immigration, including the older one shouting "I love you" as I was next to present my boarding pass. I'm glad I got some time with each of them before heading out. I'm gonna miss them dearly until the next trip.
Tobie picked me up at the airport, and his smile upon us seeing one another is always something I'll treasure. I wasn't even away for two weeks, but Tobie always welcomes me back like I survived a war or something. After more than 16 years together, he's still that way with me each and every time. And I know we're lucky that we still feel this way after all this time.
We don't have anything big planned for tonight, so we're just queueing movies to watch and ordering out for food. We've already watched a Korean movie, Even If This Love Disappears, followed by the expectedly stupid Fackham Hall, and now we're watching Plain Clothes. We at least stepped out for a walk, which was nice to get back to. Our walks around the park make for nice bonding time, and we get some low-level exercise in.
We have game plans for tomorrow, so there's that to look forward to. But tonight is just for the two of us.
