02FBE: Another Last Night

Thursday - Singapore Night Safari Creatures of the Night Show

Today was a VERY busy day.

We had a full day of work first, because it's not a holiday in Singapore. We had two back-to-back meetings to kick off the day, and that already drained us. I tried to clear as much work as I could because I didn't want to deal with anything else over the long weekend. By the time we were done, it was already rather late, and we had to pick up the boys.

Our main agenda for today was to go to the Night Safari, since the boys really wanted me to experience it with them. We had initially hoped to go over the weekend, but we weren't able to book my ticket in time. So today was our last chance, and the holiday tomorrow means the boys don't have school. So we went straight after picking them up and had about an hour to kill, so we enjoyed a hearty dinner at a very themed Food Republic at Mandai before heading in.

The park agenda was tight. As much as the older nephew wanted to explore the park on foot, the younger one really wanted to ride the tram. There was a bit of negotiation between the two, but in the end, we rode the tram. Then we immediately went to the Creatures of the Night Show. And as that wrapped, we had to rush out to catch the Twilight poi show, because the younger nephew also really wanted to see that. Doing all that back-to-back was quite a lot of activity for the night, and we sort of wrapped up from there.

I got dropped off at the supermarket near the house so I could get some pasalubong shopping done. I cleared most of what I wanted to get, then took the short walk home. I still want to pick up a few more things at the airport. This all depends on how early I wake up and how we set up the day. We might try to have breakfast with the whole family at the airport before I go into the terminal, but we'll see. I know it'll be a little difficult disentangling myself from the boys.
