Short story: In the middle of watching an episode of All of Us Are Dead over dinner, I noticed a large mouse/small rat peeking out of our bathroom door. We immediately scared it back inside, closed the door, then slipped in some fly paper to see if we could snag it. That didn't work, and while we briefly contemplated creating a barricade to steer the rodent from the bathroom to our front door, we ended up calling for help from the village guards. The roving unit dropped by the house and initially could not find the vermin until they noticed it was perched precariously on one of our pails, just out of view. They dealt with it quickly enough, and that was that for the day. But now we're thinking about longer term rat prevention measures - does anyone know of those ultrasonic pesters actually work?
I've been trying to squeeze in some Geeky Guide writing work here and there, and I've crawled past the 325 game reviews mark this week. The site is clearing about 3,000 website sessions per month, which is a healthy start but far from my personal target. With Tobie's birthday being this weekend, I doubt that I'll be making significantly more progress on this front. If anything, I need to make sure that I write this week's long-form article early since we'll be busy all weekend.
I haven't been able to get back into Cities: Skylines in order to stay focused on more important things. I miss my city, but there are other things I'm kinda worried about. At least I still have time to read and just finished both our family book club book and my personal title this week. I gotta continue to clear more titles before we assign the next book club reading assignment.
For tonight, I plan on working on more O Bar videos first in order to keep up the pace and free up more space on my phone. Plus, we'll be going to O Bar to celebrate Tobie's birthday in our own small way, so that'll mean new videos joining the queue again. The fun never ends.
And to think that I actually have a rough goal to create a separate website that will act as a searchable index for my O Bar videos someday? Whew boy. Who has the time for all this personal geekery, eh?
