02FB3: Further Gaming Updates

We always bring a good number of games with us for the monthly FGTC game night in order to share with our friends, but we don't always get to play all the games that we bring. We tend to buffer what we bring so that we don't "run out" of games to play, which is technically an impossibility since everyone brings at least a game or two, and the session is hosted at a friend's place where her own collection is. But this time we played all but one of our games (including playing some of the games more than once), and that feels like a pretty efficient haul indeed.

We started with a session of Petiquette, as a friend brought her copy along. We then split into two tables to play The Ancient World and Rewild: South America. We took a little longer with Rewild, so the other table also got to play a first round of Only Murders in the Building: The Game - something that got 2 more plays in the night when we switched things around, and the other table played Rewild. In the middle of things, we had a Splendor: Pokémon "tournament" of sorts, where we had two simultaneous games in order to declare a winner by sheer points. I got very close to ranking, but one misstep resulted in me losing by a turn.

As things began to wind down, we switched to lighter plays of two Origame releases - Shop Until You Drop and Master Sinseh. I was happy the Shop Until You Drop was so well-received, and the first playthrough of Master Sinseh wasn't too bad either. Then the last big game of the night (that lasted past sunrise, admittedly) was Hamlet, including the Hamlet By the Lake expansion. I wasn't expecting to win that last one, but things surprisingly worked out that way.

We slept a better part of today, given it was well into the morning by the time we got back to the Sietch. We woke up in time for today's online RPG session, which is our main activity for the day. It's a slightly shorter session since one of the players has to leave a little earlier, but it's still good to keep the campaign going.
